The M!X dining room is more than a place to sit
and enjoy the culinary delights emanating
from the kitchen, it’s a feast for
the eyes, as well. At the front of the
dining room, custom
“curvette” banquettes encourage couples
to sit closely, enjoying their commanding view
of the restaurant as well as of the scene at
the bar. A chef’s counter allows guests
to enjoy watching the culinary team at work while
dining. In the main dining area, simple white
tablecloths adorn the freestanding tables, and
comfortable booths line the outside walls; an
appetizing venue for enjoying the extensive menu,
while still remaining in the M!X. The rear dining
room, positioned away from the bar, extends the
space and gives an opportunity to simply dine
while others play.
Within M!X, the bar itself is the dominating
design feature. A spectacular circular structure,
it immediately invites you to come in and M!X
it up, with 20 stools finished in polished
chrome and capped with ultra soft, ultra sexy
ultra suede. The bar top, a ribbon of custom
terrazzo concrete, wraps from the lounge space
through the dining room and right into the
kitchen and entices you to climb aboard and
enjoy the ride.
As at their original Brookhaven restaurant,
HAVEN, Michel and Tonya Arnette commissioned
Atlanta artist Michael Allison to design the
lighting for the bar. These sleek pendants
are strands of hand blown red glass streaming
from the ceiling, and they circle the length
of the bar.
Situated at the very front of the restaurant,
the M!X Lounge is an inviting addition to the
already hip, happening and yet comfortable
scene at the bar. Seating here takes a modern,
functional twist with a custom designed wall-to-wall
sofa allowing for configurations comfortable
from two to twenty. The lighting here is a
cylindrical luminaire crafted from polished
aluminum and Mylar, simple and brilliantly
designed by Italian lighting artist Carlotta
De Bevilacqua. The lounge is also home to the
DJ booth, where late nights are enhanced by
disc jockeys M!X-ing cool, fresh and modern
mood tunes.
