Outside, the scene is chaos--swarms
of starry-eyed tourists and well-connected
locals jockey for position in one of
many poorly defined lines. The club is
a deceptively large 25,000 square feet,
but the main room's relatively small,
elevated dance floor steals the show.
Accessible via two drawbridges, it features
elaborate water displays, pyrotechnics,
fog clouds and overhead lighting, which
oscillates to the ferocious beats of
house, hip-hop and Top-40 mixes.
Many
cab drivers sell discount admission cards.
To reduce time spent in line, people often
pay the bouncers.
Thursday's cover is $10. On Friday and Saturday, it's $25. Local
women with ID receive complimentary admission
