An always popular restaurant on the style-forward Kings Road in London’s Chelsea, Benihana offers an exciting take on Japanese dining. Ideal for families, Benihana is sleek and stylish with a modern interior, but chances are you won’t be paying much attention to your surroundings – most diners are too busy being charmed by the tableside teppan-yaki cookery which sees the chefs create real drama before your very eyes. In addition to the delicious personally created dishes cooked and served at your table, Benihana also offers eat in and lunchtime take away sushi.

Christopher's Cuisine:
American, Modern European
spacer
Situated in a Grade II listed Victorian building, this Covent Garden restaurant and martini bar is something of a London institution. Christopher’s restaurant is housed in a stunning building; Victorian features such as the high moulded ceilings have been preserved, and tall windows in the dining room offer views over Waterloo Bridge. Decor is elegant - rich deep colours are complemented by soft, subtle lighting and starched white linen. The food here is best described as modern American. Steaks are the star of the show and the grill section of the menu features a tempting range of American steak and lobster dishes.

The menu at Nobu London, draws heavily on Matsuhisa's classic Japanese training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, as well as on South American influences gained during his extensive travels. Ottolenghi Cuisine:
Mediterranean
spacer
As close as it gets to a flag-ship, Islington is the biggest Ottolenghi and a proper restaurant. As well as take-away food, we seat about 50 in the cool, sophisticated-yet-laid-back environment, mostly around communal tables (with a few small tables for two). The restaurant, just opposite the Almeida theatre, serves hot breakfast, voted by the Observer the best in town (get the French toast or make your own toast at the table), lunch from the counter (call us around 11am, and we can email you a copy of the daily menu) and amazing hot food from the kitchen at dinner time, served to share in mezze size portions. We take bookings for dinner but not during the day. If you want to have brunch on the weekend try to arrive early, to avoid the long queues.

Verru Restaurant Cuisine:
Scandinavian
spacer
Small but perfectly formed, as the saying goes, the Scandinavian Verru restaurant is nestled in the very heart of London’s lovely Marylebone Village in the West End. Great effort has gone in to creating a chic but unpretentiously frill free interior here, in a long, narrow dining room with exposed brick walls, large mirrors and parquet flooring, the simplicity of the décor recognisably true to the roots of the Verru menu. Indeed Executive Chef and owner Andrei Lesment, previously at big name London restaurants such as Maze and Pied a Terre, has plundered his own Estonian background as well as the flavours of its Baltic neighbours in creating Verru’s two AA Rosette daily changing menu.
