Following the lead of the world-renowned Knitting Factory in New York, the Knitting Factory Hollywood is "THE" hot spot destination for alternative, cutting-edge, new music. The Knitting Factory was designed with private events, great sounding music, recording and broadcasting in mind. It offers a unique New York City atmosphere, with its aged mahogany wood, muted colors and brushed metal -- creating a sense of history, comfort, and design imbued with cutting-edge modern technology. Knitting Factory is a live music club, multi-track recording studio, web-casting facility and so much more....
Having already conquered New York and Berlin, the Knitting Factory brought its unique and surprisingly tasteful take on nightlife to the City of Angels. The Factory has two platforms: the Main Stage hosts popular acts and artists with name recognition, while the AlterKnit Lounge features hardworking bands with cult followings and a more underground appeal. Selected shows are even broadcast over the Internet to viewers of the club's official website.
The Draw
Past performances have included boy wonder Beck headlining a benefit concert for local violinist Petra Haden--with the help of Tenacious D and member of the Go-Go's--while Diamanda Galas drew a more somber audience for her cathartic stint. Visiting Brits like singer-songwriter PJ Harvey and knit cap-clad Badly Drawn Boy gave Anglophiles more to shout about. Other past performers have included Weezer, DJ Shadow and Sigur Ros. Clichéd as it may sound, this club really does have something for everyone.
Parking
Parking is available for $5 underneath the venue in the lot it shares with the Galaxy Theatre.
Know Before You
GoMost nights it's possible to pop into the bar without paying a cover. You'll only need to buy ticket if you want to see a show in the main room or lounge.
