In a city where traditional Creole and Cajun
cuisine reign supreme, BACCO Restaurant’s
award winning assortment of homemade pastas
and fresh regional seafood offer guests
a refreshing dining alternative.
Upon
opening, BACCO was named one of Esquire
Magazine’s top ten best new restaurants
in America. In 1999, BACCO was named a ‘Top
Ten Taste’
by Southern Living Magazine and was named
the Magazine’s ‘Best Lovely Lunch’
in February of 2000. BACCO has earned a four
bean rating from the Times Picayune and has
been Voted New Orleans’ ‘Best
Italian Restaurant’
3 years in row by readers of Where Magazine.
In 2004, the New Orleans Gambit Weekly named
Bacco one of 'New Orleans Best Lunch Specials.'
Housed
in a historic building in the heart of the
New Orleans French Quarter, BACCO’s
pampering service and whimsical interior
of Gothic arches, Venetian silk chandeliers,
and Baroque ceiling paintings transform the
ordinariness of eating into an extraordinary
experience
In addition to its culinary offerings, BACCO
is also well known for its “whimsical
decor”... from the dining booths inscribed
with Italian love poems to the ‘piped-in’ Italian
language lessons, every detail of the restaurant
was carefully designed to create a breathtaking
interior of gothic arches, Venetian chandeliers,
hand-painted murals and Baroque ceiling paintings.
The
Skylight Room
Separated
from BACCO'S Wine Room by an antique, French
gate, this room is twice the size of the
other dinings rooms and features a beautiful
vaulted ceiling with skylights. An authentic
18th century French compass point, elaborate
in detail and grand in size, graces the west
wall. Golden cherubs hang from the wall sconces
assuring a good time for all.
The Courtyard
Overlooking the lush courtyard and pool of
W. French Quarter Hotel, this room is bright
and tropical during the day and decidedly romantic
at night. Gas lanterns continuously flicker
across the pool illuminating the room with
soft light. The room is magnificently adorned
with a hand painted mural of a trompe l'oeil
representation of a stone castle on one wall
and hand blown Venetian glass sconces on the
other.
The Chartres Street Room
This room features floor to ceiling windows
that overlook historic Chartres Street, hand
blown Venetian glass wall sconces, and a hand
painted mural of Bacchus (the god of wine and
BACCO'S namesake) proffering a cup to a nymph
on the ceiling.
The Wine Room
The Wine Room, home to a portion of BACCO'S
vast wine collection, is bathed in soft buttery
light from three beautiful, hand painted silk
chandeliers imported from Venice, Italy. This
room is framed by a large window overlooking
Chartres Street and is divided from the Skylight
Room by an antique, French iron gate.
