 Backbooth has been in its Downtown Orlando location for nearly six years now.
Before its move, it was known as a popular beer and wine bar across the street from the University of Central Florida, which pre- viously was the beatnik coffee house, Java Jabbers. In all of its stages it has been a home for live music and art.
In its time on the Downtown scene, its popularity has soared. While these days you are more likely to see people slamming shots of Jack than sipping on glasses of wine, its reputation as a music venue has grown to being named one of the best live music venues in the city, according to Orlando Weekly, and still boasts the most impressive draft selection in downtown.
With a capacity of 350, a large stage, a powerful sound / lighting system, balcony, and back bar area; the club still maintains a very comfortable and inviting, almost pub-like atmosphere with an Old English decor including wood work and dark curtains throughout.
As a venue, Back Booth continues to play host to many popular national and regional acts, while remaining a favorite among locals. The club is also known for its dance parties; which are among the most popular and recognized in town. Whether it be for an intimate live performance, a rousing rock show, or a night of dancing and drinks, Back Booth is established in the heart of the central Florida community as a favorite destination. |
